Twitter Power- How to Dominate Your Market
Twitter is a popular social networking site and online messaging service (like SMS). It was started by Jack Dorsey in 2006 which is now one the world’s most popular website (top 50 according to Alexa). There are a number of books, tutorials, videos that are currently available in market and which is just an indication of its popularity in real world.
Tweets or short messages are limited to only 140 characters and are enough for updates on an ongoing topic. People who are interested in someone’s tweets subscribe to his/her tweets as followers.
Twitter is only a communication tool that too with a short sentence and a profile can only have few sentences and a link to his main site. This is a limitation of twitter but one can change the background with a picture/wallpaper which can be filled with other details like phone number, email etc.

Tweeting and Retweeting
I recently read a report that half a percent of all tweets were retweets i.e. a single tweet can be spread to the whole network. This has given birth to method of tweet promotion and optimization. According to Shéa Bennett who write the blog Twittercism, The concept is this: consider Twitter’s 140-character limit, consider your user name, and consider how many characters you need to leave free.
“When sharing links and content, I always ensure I leave a minimum of 12 characters at the end of each and every tweet,” says Bennett. “This is a great habit to adopt. Otherwise, those wanting to retweet you are forced to edit your submissions so that they can give the proper credit. Because f this extra work, many times, they simply won’t bother retweeting you at all.”
